In this task I've learnt create a music video, using variety of shot and learnt how to edit. The equipment used in this task was an Nikon D3500 camera with a dolly to create smooth moving. The camera settings were on Auto to make sure the exposure stayed okay whilst moving to different locations. The ISO was set to 200 due to being in and outdoor setting. The final video could have improved more if we had higher quality equipment. For example we dint have Steady Cam, the clips wouldn't have been so shaky.
Our first task in planning was figure out who in the group would do each task. We decided that it would be best if i worked the camera as it was my camera and I am a photography student, so i'm good with angles and shots. The rest of the group felt Holly would be the best for an actor due to her being able to act and not loose focus in front of the camera. When planning we decided to use one route of the local town centre to film. However on the day, there was construction on route, meaning we couldn't film there. This shook the filming process a bit as we had to make up another narrative on the spot. This meant that our clips were a bit mix and match and didn't smoothly transit into each other. We also struggled to make sure we had enough for the time limit of 3 minutes. In the end my video came to 2 minuted 39 seconds. If i was to do this shoot again i would make sure the clips smoothly went into each other and didn't seem so chaotic. I also would have made more of a narrative. One positive about my video is a clip i took of Holly walking down the street. In the clip i start behind her and smoothly move in front of her, panning the camera round to look at her. When panning i catch a women walking opposite holly, who stares into the camera. This looked really effective in the video as it creates a link with the audience as if they are really there. This can be at 1.09. We also had a variety of shots showing extreme close ups, full shots, mid shots and wide shots.
I went to to edit my video in Adobe Premiere Pro. To do this I places all of my clips into the media box, to establish which clips are good the use. Many clips had the be cut down a bit to get rid of the start or the break down a long video etc to pick out a good point. I then step by step created the video by going in the order of the clips we filmed, which was the order of the story i wanted. I then created transitions of fading between each clip. In some clips I had to edit the colour or the curves etc to make the exposure better or make the brightness better.
One thing i could have done better on my editing was creating better title and credits pages that had the words on the video clip, instead of it fading black. However i was unable to do this due to not knowing why.
One good thing about my video is that i liked how i was able to slow certain bits down in order to add different effects.
